INTP

Looked up some info on that personality type on a different website and it described me to a T.

...Including some stuff that makes a lot of sense that I hadn't really thought too much about.

Thats the page if you are interested.

INTP; it describes me pretty well.
Personally I find the tests interesting, but I'd like to think my behavior and thought patterns aren't so predictable and traceable to a personality type.

Sorry to double post, but I did a little research and I thought the results might be interesting to some of you.

Statistically in the general population only 26-34% of people are Intuitive rather than Sensing.
(according to http://www.capt.org/mbti-assessment/est ... encies.htm)
This is to say that the second letter in their 4-letter personality type is N rather than S, respectively.

From looking at people's posts on this thread it would seem that a large majority of hitchhikers are actually Intuitive rather than sensing--71% to be precise... (12 people posted I, 5 people posted S.)

When I look at these descriptions (taken from http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-pers ... uition.asp), I see which one seems more likely to hitchhike to me (your experience may differ obviously :)) :

[u:b458507434]Intuitive people[/u:b458507434]: (26-34% of the population--71% of hitchhikers)
I solve problems by leaping between different ideas and possibilities.
I am interested in doing things that are new and different.
I like to see the big picture, then to find out the facts.

[u:b458507434]Sensing people[/u:b458507434]: (66-74% of the population--29% of hitchhikers)
I solve problems by working through facts until I understand the problem.
I am pragmatic and look to the “bottom line.”
I start with facts and then form a big picture.

I would be interested to see more hitchhikers reply to this thread and see if these statistics hold up, as we can't draw real conclusions from a small sample of just 19 hitchhikers.

I found out about it a while back, looked into it, thought it was interesting but not really my kind of thing. :)

Interesting theres so many introverts! ("I") I would have thought the majority was extroverts who are hitchhiking. I have a bit of a grass is greener look though so I see everyone as being SO socially skilled and me perpetually trying to keep up though!

Im a efnp i think. extrovert/feeler/.. perceiver.. i forget. cheers though [:

Although I am highly introverted and often seem to unknowingly go to extremes to avoid public interaction, I find the banter hitchers have with their rides to be highly addictive.

This may not have to do with the test but have you noticed there comes a point when you have jumped in so many strangers car that you get a "feel" as soon as you get in the car as to what kind of person the driver is ?
