The Thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger) Heard of it?

I'm in love with the concept of the elusive Thylacine coming back to Australia.
If you've never heard of it, it's an extinct marsupial sometimes mistaken for a canine. The last Thylacine to have been hunted was recorded in 1930. Their numbers decreased because of over hunting and human development. However, in 1933, "Benjamin" was the last Thylacine to be captured and held in captivity and later died of neglect in 1936.
They have short black and white videos of the last Tasmanian Tiger in captivity which are haunting to watch yet I find them so enthralling. I've read countless documents about this animal and have learned that it may be on the rise.
There have been reported but unconfirmed sightings ever since its extinction in 1936.
Sometime in my future, when I have the time, I want to head to Australia and follow the rumors. Has anyone heard of the Thylacine and wanted to go check it out? Or has anyone been lucky enough to have caught sight of it?

I'm guessing it's pretty elusive, if it still exists that is. No one is entirely sure if there are still any left. But there are some people who believe that the species is still alive and that there are a few Thylacines still roaming around.
