quick question. okay so all my travel stuff got stolen( not my wallet thankfully).
but im looking for a new pack. and i would like to know if anyone knows good stores in orange county CA. or any websites that would sell them. also if anyone has suggestions for good backpacks that they could share, like brands or tell me good stuff to look for that would be great. thanks

Damn I'm sorry to hear that Dylann. Best bet is to go to an outdoors store and speak with the staff, they can recommend the best pack for you and your budget.

There are lots of good brands out there, and lots of cheaper ones. Take a good look at it, are there threads hanging out here, there and everywhere, or does it look and feel well constructed? Go with your gut and the advice of the staff.

How did it happen? (Could be a lesson in it for the rest of us). Remember it's just 'stuff' (hopefully) and it won't effect you in 10 years time.

well what happened because i went on a trip a sketchball. he was watching my stuff and just left it there because he wanted water (which i was getting) and it got stolen. all i hope is that the person who took it really needed it. so anyone who reads this, make sure you travel with reliable people. anyway, not letting it get to me. im gonna be back on the road when i get this new pack. oh! thanks for the advice

go to craigslist and post that you need a backpack. might get lucky. i posted that i needed one here where i live. i ended up getting a 30+ yr old jansport external frame, perfect condition. external frames are not the best for hitching (in my opinion) but i have had a lot of people comment on it.

I recommend internal frame packs. Kelty is a decent brand. They are not the best or lightest packs out there, but are definitely Grade A decent packs at a budget price.

And if you need a new sleeping bag, go to campmor.com. They have the Eureka -15 degree bag right now for only $60. It is probably the warmest sleeping bag you will ever find for that price.

Be wary trying too hardto save money on a pack...it is great to get something cheap, but I have seen a few busted keltys and outdoor products (walnart brand) out there. Worth finding a quality used bag over a new pos.

Personally I use Reuters packs, they've held up for me foryears.

oh dood yeah i wont be buying any walmart brands or any other corporation like that. i was planning on getting one at the Army Navy surplus store in town. just a ma and pa store with great stuff. i went there today. they have great stuff for not to bad of a price im totally stoked!!
