Sorry to double post, but I did a little research and I thought the results might be interesting to some of you.
Statistically in the general population only 26-34% of people are Intuitive rather than Sensing.
(according to
http://www.capt.org/mbti-assessment/est ... encies.htm)
This is to say that the second letter in their 4-letter personality type is N rather than S, respectively.
From looking at people's posts on this thread it would seem that a large majority of hitchhikers are actually Intuitive rather than sensing--71% to be precise... (12 people posted I, 5 people posted S.)
When I look at these descriptions (taken from
http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-pers ... uition.asp), I see which one seems more likely to hitchhike to me (your experience may differ obviously

) :

I am interested in doing things that are new and different.
I like to see the big picture, then to find out the facts.
[u:b458507434]Sensing people[/u:b458507434]: (66-74% of the population--29% of hitchhikers)
I solve problems by working through facts until I understand the problem.
I am pragmatic and look to the âbottom line.â
I start with facts and then form a big picture.
I would be interested to see more hitchhikers reply to this thread and see if these statistics hold up, as we can't draw real conclusions from a small sample of just 19 hitchhikers.
