Any Writers?

I had a short story and two poems published by ETHOS Magazine (Iowa State University). The short story is about a conversation between a hitchhiker and a truck driver. I had a book published in 2008: "High Plains Drifter: A Hitchhiking Journey Across America" (120 pages). I have been concentrating on my Google blog since February 2010.

I enjoy reading the stories published on Digihitch.

I write a lot of poetry concerning either nature or past travelling experiences; I 've written a few short stories concentrating on hitchhiking, with a vast majority of my experiences added into the story for flavor, like beef jerky, lol

Well, I have been on the road writing and publishing in my blog www.acrobatoftheroad.blogspot.com Of course, i can't afford to translate all I write in my native language, that is Spanish.

However, a book about my hitch-hiking trip in Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan, titled "Vagabonding in the Axis of Evil" is available from the Blog. The formal book is published and in stores in Argentina and Spain.

I'm definitely going to be doing a lot of writing when I hit the road in a few months. Going to be doing something similar to what themodernomad and JUAN are doing: hitching internationally and sharing the adventure.

I've found that the more I got into "normal" corporate life, the less creative I've been and the less I've felt inspired to write about. Time to get out into the real world!

Yeah, it's weird.. when I am in a sense of normalacy, I feel so contained inside, it hurts at times.. and yeah, my creativity goes with that.. And then, when I'm out on the road, travelling, everything becomes vibrant again; I become myself, happy and carefree it's wonderful!

Hey Tim, congrats on the second book! I'd be interested to know what kind of revenue you get from that, but I understand that that kind of thing is highly private .

As per the post, I'm also a blogging bum. "Blogging" however is not typically the word I like to use to describe my writing. In fact, I've become so fed up with the word, I've entitled my site "Velabas: A Narrative of Hitchhiking Travel in Latin America." Bah!

Yesterday, I just finished reading The Short, Short Hitchhiker by Stanley Gurcze (1917-1989). I thought it was a very good read. It was published by the Virginia Avenue Press in Reno, Nevada in 2011. The incredible thing about Stanley Gurcze is that he had both of his feet amputated at the age of 10.
