In April I sold everything I had and started back packing. I saw an untold amount of places and met more people than I remember. I traveled from southern Ontario, to the St. Lawrence River to the shores of Vancouver and even found myself up in the Klondike Yukon. I worked as I went and met up with some old friends. I stayed at some top end camp grounds but also slept beside highways. I got lost in big city centers and the back roads of northern British Columbia. I had quite an adventure this summer.
The experience was amazing and I want to thank you guys for being there. I learned so mush from the wisdom on this site. I want to apologize for the road taking so much of my time that I didnt stay active on here.
I am in off the road right now. My area has seen the nights get as cold as the freezing point so my tent was simply not cutting it. My plan to go to Mexico for the winter has fallen through. I am not 100% comfortable with the idea.
All that being said I have found a temporary job and accommodation in Sault St. Marie. A friend of mine runs a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center and I will be helping out as a duty staff.
It is sad to have to have to come in off the road but the good part is that I will have more time to get active on the forum.
So I will see you guys around.

Aww, no Mexico? Bummer, maybe some other time. Meanwhile, have fun where you're at and keep us posted.
Greetings from Brazil - or as they say here, saudações do Brasil!

I'm about to go on another trip, but there's something I've been REALLY wanting to see in Mexico: Isla de Las Munecas
The Island of the Dolls. If you don't know, search it on google.
Sometime after I make it back to California, I'd love to either hitch or take a road trip down there with someone (who preferably knows at least a little bit of Spanish as I know none). If you're still interested in Mexico sometime next year, I'm down.
Also, welcome back to the grind.

Hey, Giligan: Now that you are off the road, you have to write a book about your experiences--or at least a short story or two.
