I am looking for a sort of second opinion on info i received on the road.
At the moment I am in Sayulita, Mexico (just north of Puerto Vallarta) and I will be leaving in the next couple days to visit a friend in Albuquerque, NM, see the south side of the Grand Canyon and then make my way up to NorCal for the beginning of October. In that order.
I was fairly sure I would take the obvious route past Chihuahua, cross at Juarez and hit albuquerque from there.
Someone told me that I would be wiser to go to Mazatlan, take a ferry to La Paz, Baja, (where hitchhiking is much much easier), cross the border at Mexicali and get to albuquerque from there.
Ideas are much appreciated.
