Hitch-hiking with my Dog..

Postby appahana » March 18th, 2011, 10:12 am

So I have hit a speed bump in my travels and I have to go back home and get my dog. Shes a 80lb american pit and I was wondering how much harder would it be to hitch hike around with her? I would have my friend with me too so it would be the 3 of us. Let me know what you think.

Hitching with a dog and another person isn't a problem at all. I've hitched long distance with a dog before.

The more important matter is whether your dog will be comfortable hitchhiking. It is not a life that every dog is cut out for. If you haven't traveled long distance with her before I would definitely try a few short overnight trips first just to get a feel for how your dog will react.

There is lots of information in this forum about traveling with pets so I recommend reading up on other threads in the forum as well.

And for every apprehensive person there will be one less ignorant. Don't worry.
