Larry Dean Olsen's Outdoor Survival Skills. It's old, but survival never gets outdated :D This is particularly useful for the Western U.S.

I forgot about this book/ documentary called "Alone in the wilderness", its a phenomenal case study on living off the land. This man is a top notch woodsman and absolutely a 1%er.

The documentary is called "Alone in the Wilderness" and the book is "One Man's Wilderness." Absolutely one of my favorite books of all time. Dick Proenneke is the man's name. He was into photography as well. I wholeheartedly recommend the book to almost anyone. It's nothing short of incredible.

...and they lay down behind me
to sleep beside the road, till the morning has come,
where they know they will find me,
with my maps and my faith in the distance,
moving father on.

Ready to go?????

Postby washerboy » June 9th, 2011, 11:31 pm

I'll be ready by the middle of July to get the heck out of here. I wouldn't mind having a partner if someone is as serious about as I am. Still not concrete on a place yet, but am getting closer. If anyone is interested, shoot me a line to my e-mail handcenterprises@yahoo.com. The PM on this site hasn't been working for me, so I don't really trust it. Happy trails!! :D

I left Bend, OR the last week of July and made it to Cali in 3 days. I was in Grass Valley, CA with Laz777 from August 2011 till mid October. He had business to do elsewhere and I stayed at camp and mined gold until the river started rising too high. In Mid-November I held a sign for work, got a cash job the next day that lasted until February. Now I'm working my ass off in 98-99 degree heat in the middle of Phoenix. I hate this city. People here, for the most part, SUCK. Anyway, maybe I'll post more later. I just posted some of my experiences the other day. can I collect my $60,000 now, RangerChris? lol
