Overseas Travel

I poked around a bit and wasn't able to find any section to ask about getting overseas or anything about intercontinental travel anyhow. Maybe a section on that would be a good addition to the site?

Getting overseas from the US? Most people agree that buying a plane ticket is a highly efficient way to accomplish this.

Well of course but... isn't part of the spirit of this site finding alternative ways to travel? Otherwise I'd be more than happy to start the "Buy A Damn Car" thread under hitchhiking

There's lots of mention about airhitching, freighter travel and some other methods of getting overseas if you know where to look.
