So I want to hitch across europe, but the problem is getting there. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get there?

ive been looking into this myself. ever hear of an airplane? they go reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy fast. seriously. i was very impressed when i found out about them. good stuff.

but seriously now, i dont know how much money you have but a one way ticket from chicago to paris is only like $325 leaving jan 9th. Check out websites like kayak.com. Also you could be a courier. People, or companies, will get you tickets to Europe for like 150 if you escort a package of theirs. Dont really know much about it myself but just google it.
or you could just hitchhike to Canada, then through Alaska, then across the Biering straight, then though Russia and then your in Europe. Easy peasy japanesy.

PLease let me know if you find anything cheaper then 300$

Hmm, this way you risk to spend even more than 300 bucks - russian visa alone will cost you at least 100, and you'll have to take a plane anyway ))

If you just don't want to go by plane you may try to find a boatl. Cargos are no option but you might try to find a yacht going there. I even bumped into some forums for boat owners and crewmembers. I didn't research very much about this though - what ports they leave from and which season is the best to cross th Atlantic i dont know. Also you'd better have some (at least basic) sailing skills and you'll have to buy food for you for sure.

Continental - Newark, NJ to Belfast Return = $369.00

Belfast - Prague 10 British Pounds O/W.
...and they lay down behind me
to sleep beside the road, till the morning has come,
where they know they will find me,
with my maps and my faith in the distance,
moving father on.
