I've been in Phoenix at midnight when it's still 100 degrees. Las Vegas at 112 and no shade at the truckstop. But worse was Memphis at 110 and 100% humidity. It rained hot water.

You'd be surprised how hot it can get in Boise during the heat of summer. I've seen temps near 120 without heat index!

This last summer we broke the record for Phoenix with 54 consecutive days of 100+, with a record breaking temp of 128 two days in a row. Now that's heat. And Florida, when it is 105 and 100% humidity. They both are miserable, but I'd rather be in Phoenix. The Arizona adage is true: At least it's a dry heat.

just one of those things you have to deal with. Seattle might not be stinky, but I would rather be hot than cold.

Lewiston, Idaho

Postby Sawman » July 31st, 2011, 10:29 pm

Few people probably know this, but Lewiston, Idaho can get very hot in the summer. Once I was in Lewiston and it got up to 109 degrees F. People have told me that it can get up to 115 degrees F. But it is a dry heat. In my experience, the most humid places are east of the Missouri River especially the southeastern United States. Humid heat is worse than dry heat.
