THAT said, why were you denied entry? lack of funds?[/quote:99c5359f8e]

That was back in the day when RPG's were just taking off... I had a lot of RPG (role-playing game) material. They thought I was some sort of nutt job... I am, but it doesn't show until you know me fairly well.... :)

Told me to get a psychological evaluation and a clearance letter.... Never once asked me about funds...

I was driving a 10 year old car at that time... 1988 and I was driving a 1978 hatchback corolla SR5 (brown and ugly) with Colorado Plates... I had just come from Ft Morgan, CO.

a 10 yr old car with tags on it from a non-border state, and a driver whoisnt sure how long hes staying in country thats packed with Apparently Useles Crap (officers view) translates as 'lack of funds', jack.

I have a "friend" in Imlay City, who coincidently has a father who works for US immigration / Border patrol, and he's going to give me a lift across to London, Ont. this spring.

I planned it out with him, I thought it would be the easiest way to get across.... in a car with someone you know that has money. :)

US ICE and canada customs are NOT the same thing, jack.
US ICE *has* to let you back into USA, if you are native -born america citizem regardless of funds or ID.

however, if crossing TO canada in a car, have the friend loan you at least $300 (for yoru wallet, forthe crossing) you can return it to him before you part ways.(and have soem LOGICAL ANSWERS READY)

I didn't mean to imply I had some sort of inside track... it's just coincidence and in no way helps or hinders me...

I've heard that there are towns where one side of the street is the US and the other side is canada. But has anyone hitchhiked accross the border without a passport? Like get picked up on one side and then dropped off on the other.

americans crossing into canada and vice versa dont need a passport, just ;'ID, ;sufficient funds. the appropriate lack of crimnal record/arrests for the country being entered, and (most important of all) 'straight answers')

I agree with the above posts. I was denied entry into the US from Canada a year ago at Emerson, Manitoba.

I cannot stress the importance of pre-planning cooking up a story and having the sufficient documents to go along with it that will get you across before you attempt cross the border, it seems logical but I was so into hooking up with my friends down in the states that I thought it wouldn't be that important.

And oh yea! that bastard who runs the little convenience store in Emerson (close to a motel and right across from the greyhound bus stop) is a real asshole, He wouldn't even give me change for a toonie (I had to buy something-prick) when I needed to use the phone after all that shit from the border pig...rrrr...
