i hate it when people say punk is an alternative to the mainstream. ok genius, what happens when the alternative to mainstream becomes mainstream? i agree with those that say who cares what punk is defined as, why should you ever try and define it. do what makes you happy, who cares what others think. THINK FOR YOURSELF. stop trying to be "Cool" or "fit in" its not worth it. just my opinion as far as what i like to see, it makes shows so much better. with any luck emo will die out like disco.

well, honestly, you put way too much effort into that post. the what is punk question has been asked ever since it started. of course your going to get different opinions. the point of the thread is to not define it but to gather opinions or personal thoughts of people. its a forum. its very different people with very different opinions discussing. :) don't get too upset lol in the end who really cares?

well if its something you care about i'm pretty sure that a bit of effort is a given. of course i put some effort into my post and i wouldn't expect anything less from your post either. granted its a forum and its everyone's opinions but still posting your opinions about something you love, it should require some effort.

It's not punk rock to ask what punk rock is. 1-2-3-4 who's punk, what's the score? It's just a brand of counter-culture, and the true non-poseur punk rockers don't need Mohawks, they just break shit and make purposely underproduced music. Punk's not dead anymore than hippies are gone.

Punk is just punk. It's the "I don't give a [PROFANITY REMOVED BY MOD TEAM]" attitude. To quote Joey Ramone, the grandfather of punk rock- “I enjoyed my life when I had nothing... and kinda like the idea of just being happy with me.” That's what I think punk is.

[quote:3f3b187fb7="chip"]And get rid of your tv. It does nothing but brainwash. Pick up a good book, make a new band shirt, travel, write, paint, draw, expand your mind. these things are good.[/quote:3f3b187fb7]
