I always take baths in rivers by preference. Of course this only works if said river is there at all, and isn't fouled with sewage. Failing that, gas station pit baths work all right to get the stink off ya. With a coffee bonus if you had to pay for something to get into the bathroom!

In some of the "off the grid" areas I have been in before I painted two gallon jugs black and set those out (full of water) in the sun to warm. I then used about 1/2 gallon to wet everything, a good soap up with Dr. Bonners, then rinse with the remaining water. Works very well!

If the utilities aren't working at your squat, get a sillcock key at a hardware store. Pretty much every building that's not a house has a sillcock at the back of it. You can turn it on with the key, fill up a bucket of water and take it home. DO THIS ONLY AT NIGHT! If you get caught, well, it's pretty much illegal. Not to mention you foul the neighbourhood for other tramps. So, yeah, be quiet and don't get greedy and you can have free water for your showers. It's also good to drink.
