i was concerned about carrying a camp axe and a fliet knife while traveling, because i figured if you're in a city they can (PROFANITY REMOVED BY MOD TEAM) with you for it and put you in jail (illegal knife length blah blah blah)

wal-mart sells a "hobo tool" for 4 bucks. knife fork spoon can opener and awl, and when opened it splits in half so the knife is on one peice and fork and spoon on the other... I love it.

i carry a k-bar, a letherman with the hammer head on it i forget what its called, and a paring knofe for delicate work. the k-bar puls triple duty as cooking knife, camp knife, and stabbin' folks knife. i like the k-bar because its high-carbon steel, full tang, and super strong i dont know about all the newest knives and what not, but id love to know where to get a super light weight axe.

Usually I got a Opinel knife with me, they are cheap and just work. Mine has a 9cm blade and is now about 8 Years old and still does the job.

Knives to carry

Postby monocle5 » September 26th, 2009, 12:18 pm

I"ve found many uses for the Gerber Artifact. This lil multitool features a curve design perfect for the pocket. It has use as a prybar,flathead/phillips screwdriver, bottle opener, and also has a flip-out hobby knife blade, the sort one can buy at any hobby/craft/Walmart. Plus, It's a veritable steal!(Or one could just buy it for 12.99...) :D

I carry a cold steel double agent, its a 3inch slightly hooked neck knife with a slim handle and two finger holes. Basicly its a half set of brass knuckles with a blade on top, its super slim and i wear it under my shirt, only cost about 40$. For anything heavy i carry a fiskars polymer handle hatchet thats pretty much a modern tomahawk and keep it real sharp, cost me 30$. Both are high end with a low price and super light.
